From an early age I have always wanted to be part of a profession which has the ability to help people with their health and wellbeing. I was initially unsure of what Chiropractors could do until I experienced firsthand the effectiveness of Chiropractic after a recurring hip injury prevented me from playing hockey. With Chiropractic treatment I was able to return to play and perform to my best.
I am currently playing in the Sydney Hockey Premier League and also enjoy playing social touch football and indoor soccer. In 2008 I was selected to play hockey in Russia, Poland and Germany where we were successful in winning numerous tournaments. With this strong sporting background and my experience with chiropractic treatment, I have found myself having a passion for treating athletes of all levels with particular interest in the prevention and treatment of injuries. I also have particular interest in geriatric health with my Masters Degree research project examining the effects of specialised training on reducing falls in the elderly.
During my university training I was also part of a team from TAFE NSW who provided assistance for those with a physical or neurological impairment. I found this extremely satisfying as we were able to make such a positive impact in the students’ lives. I hope to carry this motivation into my chiropractic career where I aim to help and treat every patient as an individual with the skills I have developed over the last 5 years.
