Your Body

All your life, you have been told to "stand up straight, watch your posture". Hopefully, you have been following that advice. You will look better and have more energy if you do. Actually there is much more to posture than most people realise. Your posture involves your ligaments, muscles, spinal bones, and the organs of your body.

Your posture is the window to the spine.

If posture is out of balance, then the spine is out of balance, putting unhealthy pressure on your ligaments, muscles , spinal bones, and the organs of your body.

Optimal posture is a vital key to achieving optimal health for each person in your family. Early detection of growth problems in childhood is important in minimising postural and health problems in the adulthood.

Your spine should be perfectly balanced, each of the 24 spinal bones stacked on top of one another. Looking at the spine from the side you should see three curves, each having a smooth 60° arc; in nature, engineering, physics and geometry a 60° arc offers the strongest defence against the destructive forces of gravity and motion.

The approach will check the strength of your spinal curves; we will inform you of the power of your posture. The approach will assess the strength of the base of your spine in movement. The stability of your pelvis is important; the pelvis acts as a support for all the bones, organs, muscles and constant change  that occurs above the pelvis.

We specialise in positive growth and development of babies and children. Positive growth means we are looking at prevention and optimising healthy patterns as your child grows.  An assessment at will tell us if there is a growth problem; a program of regular postural corrections and home exercises will be organised for your child from day one.

A healthy growth habit through childhood is the aim of the growth and development program.

Over many years we have helped thousands of children in their growth with a regular assessment at    We will monitor and minimise any imbalance in the pattern of growth as your child learns to sit, crawl, stand, walk and run.  continues to encourage mind body coordination and emotional wellbeing as your child moves into the teenage years.

Stress Management

When the body is under stress, the sympathetic nervous system kicks in, this is called the stress response of the body. The sympathetic nervous system in your body is the system that “turns on“ the fight/flight response.

The fight/flight response protects the body from danger and attack. This response has been unchanged for thousands of years, and helped prehistoric humans survive by helping them to run away faster or fight harder. We often call the body's reaction to stress "the fight/flight response".

If the stress is an ongoing and daily part of your life:

  • The brain doesn't switch off the fight/flight mode response; you cannot sleep well and your body is trying to “run away” (when you are trying to relax). This is the cycle of ill health that we see all too often at
  • If the fight/flight response continues unrelentingly, the body turns against itself and starts to break down.

If you have any of these symptoms then you may be suffering from a build up of stress in your body:

  • Headaches;
  • Neck pain;
  • Back pain;
  • Shoulder problems;
  • Loss of sensation;
  • Eye problems;
  • Scoliosis (curvature of the spine);
  • Chronic muscle tension;
  • Hormonal imbalance;
  • Sleep disorders;
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome...

The approach will assess the problem and help to find the solution
